A tow to a workshop means paying for the tow itself, the diagnostic time before anyone starts, and a loan car if you need one. By the time that invoice is written for a straightforward wrong fuel job, the total is usually north of $1,000 all up, and the car is off the road for at least a day. We do the same drain and flush on site, from $400, and you drive away the same visit.

Sometimes it changes nothing. Sometimes the system needs a longer flush and a more thorough running check, and if a workshop follow up looks likely we tell you before doing anything beyond the base job. The single biggest thing that keeps a job at the standard price is not starting the engine once you realise. Fuel sitting in the tank does no damage. It's the engine pulling it through the system that does.

We'll always tell you on site before doing anything beyond the base job. Most of the time a standard drain and flush is all it takes. On the rare job where a car's been driven a while on the wrong fuel and there's real engine work needed, we'll say so honestly, and if the right call is a workshop instead, you don't pay us a callout.
